Ryan Wesslen is a machine learning engineer at Explosion where he works on Prodigy, a modern annotation tool for creating training data for machine learning models. Ryan’s academic research focuses on human-centered artificial intelligence to investigate ways human-computer interaction and data visualizations can be combined with machine learning and natural language processing. He is also an associate graduate faculty member in UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science. Ryan previously led the Natural Language Processing (NLP) team in Bank of America’s Chief Data Scientist Organization and has additional experience in marketing and credit risk management, analytics, and modeling.
